Showing your design to a contractor, landlord, or designer
Working with a pro? Here's which export to send them so the conversation goes smoothly.
Working with a pro? RoomSketch3D gives you every way to hand off a plan — a printable image or PDF, a read-only 3D link, an editable file, or a 3D model. Here are all the options and who each one suits.
Step by step
- 1
Image (PNG) — the universal handoff
Share / Export → Export to Image / PDF → PNG. Use black & white with measurements for a contractor or builder (it reads like a construction drawing), or color with labels for a landlord, mover, or listing photographer who just needs the layout.
PNG image — black & white for builders, color for everyone else. - 2
PDF — print-ready
Same dialog, set the format to PDF. A clean, print-ready document to email or hand over on paper — ideal when a contractor wants a printed drawing.
PDF — a print-ready document for email or paper. - 3
Public link — a 3D walkthrough
Share / Export → Share with a link → Make public. A read-only link anyone can open — no account — and rotate in 3D. Best for an interior designer or client who wants to see the space, not just read a plan.
A read-only public link — view and rotate in 3D, no account needed. - 4
3D model (GLB) — for designers and 3D tools
Share / Export → Export to GLB. A full 3D model for AR, Blender, SketchUp, or the web — for a designer or 3D artist who'll work with the geometry.
GLB — a full 3D model for AR and 3D editors. - 5
JSON — hand off the editable file
Share / Export → Export as JSON. The complete, editable design for another RoomSketch3D user to open and keep working on.
