Walls in a floor plan have real thickness. Standard residential conventions:

Typical: 4-5 inches (2×4 stud + drywall both sides). Plumbing wall: 6 inches (2×6 stud). Soundproofed: 6-8 inches.

Exterior walls
Standard 2×4 framing: 5-6 inches. Higher-performance 2×6 framing: 7-8 inches. Masonry/brick: 10-14 inches. Concrete: 8-12 inches.
