Take the guided tour of the editor

Step by step

   Start the tour

   On your first visit after purchase, the tour starts by itself right after you choose your preferences. Any other time, open Support at the top of the screen and choose Guided tour. It's in the same place on Home and in the editor (on a phone, Support is the ? button). If you have no designs yet, Home also shows a Take the guided tour button.

   It begins on Home

   After a welcome card (where you can switch the language), the tour shows a live preview of your Home screen. It goes through each way to start a floor plan: Rectangular Floor Plan, Custom Floor Plan, Floor Plan Image or PDF, Use Room Photo and Use Template, plus AR Scan on iPhone and iPad and From Backup on the web. Then it shows Your Designs and how to organize them with Tags. If you have no designs yet, the preview fills the list with sample ones. Nothing on the preview can be tapped. It's there to show you where things are. At Let's open a plan, Next loads the sample apartment and the editor part of the tour begins.

   Move at your own pace

   Each card has Back and Next buttons and a step counter (for example "Step 6 of 62"). Read the card, then tap Next. When a card says "tap Next to open it", Next opens that panel, sheet or menu, just as it opens for you when you tap it yourself. The last card's button reads Finish.

   Jump to a section

   Already know the basics, or only need one part? Tap the step counter at the top of the card ("Step 2 of 62 ˅"). It opens Jump to a section: a list of the tour's sections, each with the step it starts at. Your current section is highlighted. Tap a section to go straight there. Jumping past Home loads the sample plan first. On a computer the sections are: Welcome, Home, Ways to start, Your designs & tags, Your floor plan, Build, Materials, Toolbar, 3D view, Walls, Furnish, Symbols, Copy, share & export, Support & settings, and Resources & finish. Phones have the same sections in the order of the phone layout (Toolbar, 3D view and Walls come before Build, Furnish and Materials).

   Plan Settings, one tab at a time

   The tour opens Plan Settings (on a computer, in the left panel under Structural. On a phone, from the Plan Settings button in the top row) and goes through its four tabs: Layout, Rotation, Walls and Ceiling. - Layout opens the Outline Editor, for one-off outline fixes. - Rotation turns the plan on screen in 15° steps (Reset turns it back). The two flip buttons mirror the whole floor, furniture included. - Walls sets where exterior walls sit on the outline you drew: Outside, Center or Inside. - Ceiling is the ceiling height of the floor. On a computer these steps are in the Build section. On a phone they're part of Your floor plan.

   A look at the Outline Editor

   Right after the Layout tab, the tour opens the Outline Editor on the sample plan. There you drag a corner to reshape the outline, use All 90° to square every corner, Add Exterior Walls to extend the outline, and Re-scale if the whole plan came out the wrong size. On an upper floor, Reposition this floor lines it up with the one below. Next closes it again, and nothing is saved.

   Exit, and pick up later

   The ✕ in the card's corner ends the tour at any step. Where you land depends on where you started it: - Started from Home (or after your first purchase): you go back to Home. - Started in the editor with a design open: that design opens again, just as you left it. The tour remembers the step you closed it at on this device. Next time you start it, a Pick up where you left off? card offers Resume (go back to that step) or Start over. Finishing the last step clears it, so the next run starts from the beginning.
