Draw Floor Plans to Scale
Type two numbers for a rectangle, click out any custom outline, or split and slide walls to an exact distance. Every dimension is real, so what fits on screen fits in the room.

Most room-planning mistakes come from a plan that is roughly right. RoomSketch3D draws everything at true scale: walls have real thickness, doors swing their real width, and a 36-inch range is 36 inches on the plan. Dimension lines measure to the actual wall faces, including around inside corners, so the numbers on your export are the numbers a tape measure would give you.
You can start with a rectangle by typing width and length, or draw any outline by clicking corners — L-shapes, alcoves, angled walls, even round rooms with curved walls. Once the shell is there, interior walls snap to the near edge, center, or far edge of neighbouring walls, and a dashed guide shows when walls are perfectly aligned.
Precision is typed, not eyeballed. Select any exterior wall to edit its length. Turn on Split Walls and type exactly how far along to divide one. Drag the handle in the middle of a wall to slide it in or out while the two walls it joins stretch to follow, with live measurements the whole way.
What you can do
Live dimensions
Every wall and piece shows its size as you draw or drag, with a distance readout to the nearest neighbour.
Any shape
Rectangles, L, T, and U shapes, odd corners, and round rooms with doors and windows that follow the curve.
Exact wall edits
Type a wall length, split a wall at a precise distance, set per-wall thickness, or flag a wall as load-bearing.
Smart snapping
Interior walls snap to edges and centres; near-straight walls lock to horizontal or vertical; alignment guides light up as you drag.
Your units
Feet-and-inches, plain inches, or metres-and-centimetres, with decimals like 6.35 in or 1,5 m accepted.
To-the-inch furniture
All 650+ items take a custom width, depth, and height, so a non-standard sofa is planned at its real size.
How it works
- 1
Start the shell
Enter width and length for a rectangular room, or choose Custom and click each corner of the outline as your home is actually built.
- 2
Refine the walls
Select a wall to type its exact length or thickness, split it where a real wall meets it, and drag the middle handle to resize the room by eye.
- 3
Add interior walls, doors, and windows
Draw partitions with 90-degree snapping, then drop doors and windows on any wall — drag them between walls and they re-seat automatically.
- 4
Check with the tape
Drop the tape measure between any two things, or switch it to Area mode to size a rug or a tiled zone, before you commit.
Good to know
- Hold Shift while dragging a corner to lock 90-degree angles.
- Rooms are labelled and measured as soon as they are enclosed by walls — no door required.
- If a traced or imported plan came in at the wrong size, Edit Floor Plan → Re-scale fixes the whole plan from one known measurement.
Frequently asked questions
Can I type exact dimensions instead of dragging?
Yes. Every wall, door, window, and piece of furniture has a size field. Type a value in feet-and-inches, inches, or metres and centimetres — decimals are accepted — and the plan updates to match.
Does it handle non-rectangular rooms?
Yes. Draw Your Own lets you click each corner of any outline. L-shaped, T-shaped, angled, and round rooms are all supported, and doors and windows follow curved walls.
How accurate are the exported dimensions?
Dimension lines measure to the actual wall faces, including inside corners, so the figures on a PNG, PDF, or DXF export match what a tape measure would read on site.
