An electrical plan is the one drawing almost every renovation needs and almost no room planner offers. RoomSketch3D has a dedicated Symbols panel: outlets and switches place with a tap on any wall — interior walls too, with an In/Out toggle to choose which room sees them — alongside lights, wall safes, mirrors, and telecom and security symbols.
The Circuit line tool connects them. Tap each symbol in a run — an outlet, a switch, a light, a valve, any symbol including your own uploads — and a dashed line links them to show they share one circuit back to the panel. Lines are numbered automatically, follow a symbol when you move it, keep their place if you delete one, and can be re-routed later. Undo steps back one hop at a time while you draw.
Symbols are colourable with badges, render as fixtures in 3D, and always appear in images, PDFs, and prints. A symbols-only export preset produces a clean electrical layer, and you can upload your own PNG symbols — an electrical panel, an HVAC unit, an appliance — into a personal library to place like furniture.
What you can do
Outlets and switches on any wall
Tap a wall to place; interior walls get an In/Out toggle for which room faces the device.
Telecom and security
Data, phone, camera, and sensor symbols alongside the electrical set.
Circuit lines
Numbered runs that attach to real symbols, follow moves, and can be re-routed.
Your own symbols
Upload PNGs of panels, HVAC units, or appliances to a personal library.
Symbols-only export
A dedicated preset that outputs just the electrical layer.
In 3D and on paper
Symbols render as fixtures in 3D and always print.

- 4
Export the layer
Use the symbols-only export preset, or include symbols in the full plan export.
Frequently asked questions
Can I put an outlet on an interior wall?
Yes. Outlets, switches, mirrors, and wall safes place on interior walls as well as exterior ones, and an In/Out toggle picks which side of the wall the device faces.
Do circuit lines move with the symbols?
Yes. A circuit line attaches to real symbols, so it follows when you move one and keeps its place if you delete one. Select a line to re-route a point onto a different device.
Can I add symbols that are not in the library?
Yes. Upload your own PNG symbols — an electrical panel, an HVAC unit, an appliance — and place them like any other item. They work with circuit lines too.
