Export, print & share — every option explained
One menu — Export / Print / Share — covers everything: crisp images and PDFs, big-paper printing, CAD hand-off, a portable 3D model, a private backup file, and a public link anyone can view.
Everything lives under the Export / Print / Share button in the top bar. This guide walks through each option and when to reach for it: a PNG image for quick sharing, a vector PDF for email and large prints, Print straight from the app, a DXF for AutoCAD, a GLB 3D model, a JSON backup you keep anywhere, and a public link for read-only viewing.
The PNG, PDF, and Print options share one dialog with the same checkboxes, so a plan styled once exports the same way everywhere.

PNG image — quick shares and small prints
In the Export / Print dialog, pick the Export tab and the PNG format. Paper size & quality controls the resolution: Standard is best for sharing and printing up to about A3, and real paper sizes — A3, A2, A1, A0, Tabloid 11×17, ARCH D 24×36, ARCH E 36×48 — upscale the render (with Standard / High / Max quality) so it stays crisp on big paper. The checkboxes choose what shows on the plan: Black & white line-drawing style, an Electrical plan layer (shell, symbols, and light fixtures only), Elevation views (the four exterior elevations as separate images), plus Labels, Measurements, Room tints, Grid, and Center / wall midpoint guides. On a multi-floor design you pick which floors to export — each becomes its own file.

Vector PDF — sharp at any size
Switch the format to PDF and the paper-size picker disappears — on purpose. The PDF is vector, so it stays razor-sharp at any print size with no quality setting to choose. It's the best format for emailing a contractor or printing at a shop. The same show-on-plan checkboxes apply; the four elevation views aren't available in the vector PDF — export them as PNGs or add them to a print instead.

Print — straight from the app
The Print tab sends the plan to your printer, laid out to fill the page rather than a tiny thumbnail. The same options apply, and Elevation views adds the four exterior elevations as extra pages — five pages in total. Your paper size is chosen in the system print dialog; a Print detail setting (Standard for Letter/A4, Large for A2/A1, Poster for A0) controls how much detail is rendered. On iPhone and iPad, Print opens the share sheet — choose Print (AirPrint) there.

AutoCAD DXF — hand-off to the pros
Export to DXF saves the 2D plan in the layered CAD format AutoCAD and other drafting tools read — it also opens in LibreCAD and most CAD software. Walls, doors, windows, furniture, and dimensions each sit on their own layer, drawn in inches at true size with dimensions on the exterior walls. DXF captures the 2D plan (not 3D or textures); if you need native DWG, open the DXF in AutoCAD and Save As DWG. This option is on the desktop web app — it's a CAD workflow.

GLB — a portable 3D model
Export to GLB downloads the full 3D scene — walls, doors, windows, stairs, furniture; the same geometry the 3D view renders — as a `.glb` file. Drop it into iOS Quick Look or Android Scene Viewer to place it in a real room with AR, or import it into Blender, SketchUp, three.js, or Babylon.js for further editing and rendering. Building the file takes a few seconds on a furnished plan; a toast tracks progress.

JSON — your own backup
Export for backup downloads the complete design as a single `.json` file: room shape, walls, doors, windows, all furniture, and your view settings, exactly as they are now. Keep it on your computer, Google Drive, or Dropbox — anywhere outside our cloud — and bring it back any time with New / Open → Import, into your account or someone else's. One heads-up: the file is a plain-text snapshot, so treat it as privately as any backup.

Tips
Match the format to the reader
Family or a group chat → public link (always current, nothing to attach). Contractor on site → PDF or a printed copy. Architect → DXF. Another design tool or AR → GLB. Your own archive → JSON.
The Black & white toggle is made for printing
It strips the colors to a pure line drawing — cleaner on paper, kinder to toner, and closer to what contractors expect to mark up.
A public link beats re-sending files
The link always shows the design's current state — update the plan and everyone with the link sees the latest version, no re-export needed.
Common confusions
Exporting Standard PNG for a poster
Standard resolution is tuned for screens and prints up to about A3. For anything bigger, pick the real paper size (A0, ARCH E…) so the export upscales to stay crisp — or use the vector PDF, which never pixelates.
Using the JSON file to share a viewable plan
JSON is a backup/transfer format — it needs to be imported into the app to be seen. To let someone just look at your design, send a public link; to give them a picture, export a PNG or PDF.
Looking for DXF on your phone
DXF export is a desktop CAD workflow, so it lives in the desktop web app's Export / Print / Share menu — you won't find it in the mobile apps.
Frequently asked questions
Which options include the furniture?
PNG, PDF, and Print render the plan as you see it, furniture included. The GLB carries the full 3D scene with furniture. The DXF includes furniture outlines on their own layer. The JSON stores everything, since it's a complete snapshot.
Can I export every floor of a multi-story design?
Yes — the PNG export lets you tick which floors to include, and each selected floor downloads as its own file.
Can someone with my public link edit my design?
No. Public links are strictly read-only — viewers can look around but nothing they do touches your design. Only you, signed into your account, can edit it.
How do I get the four elevation views into an export?
Tick Elevation views: the PNG export adds them as four separate images, and Print adds them as extra pages (five pages total). They're not available in the vector PDF. There's also a dedicated Elevation views screen for viewing and exporting them individually.
