Circuit lines — link symbols into numbered runs
Tap each device in a run to draw a dashed, numbered circuit line — it follows moves, undoes hop by hop, and prints with your plan.
A circuit line is the dashed run an electrician draws to show which devices share one feed back to the panel — the home run. In RoomSketch3D you draw it by tapping the devices in order, and the line attaches to the symbols themselves rather than to spots on the canvas.
That attachment is the point: move a light and its run follows; delete an outlet and the line keeps its place; number labels stay upright when you rotate the plan. And because the line is part of the design, it appears in every image, PDF, and print.

Arm the Circuit line tool
In the Symbols panel tap Circuit line. The button changes to Exit circuit line and a hint appears on the plan: Click each symbol to connect them. Click the first one again or press Enter to finish · Esc to cancel (on touch: Tap each symbol … Tap the first one again or Done to finish).

Tap the devices in order
Tap the first outlet, the next outlet, the ceiling light, then the switch that controls it. Each tap extends a dashed draft line; the run is numbered automatically (Circuit 1, Circuit 2 …). Only real symbols accept a tap — tapping empty canvas shows Tap a symbol to connect it and adds nothing.

Finish the run
Tap the first device again, press Enter, or (on touch) tap Done. The draft becomes a committed circuit with its number label, and the tool disarms. Rotate the plan view and the label stays upright.

Move a device — the line follows
Drag the ceiling light across the room. Because the circuit is attached to the symbol, the run re-routes with it. Delete a device and the line keeps its place; select a finished line to re-route a point onto a different device, or remove it with the on-plan trash button.

Undo a hop while drawing
Made a wrong connection? While the draft is open, Backspace, the toolbar Undo arrow, or Ctrl/Cmd+Z steps back one hop at a time; Redo puts it back. Escape cancels the whole draft. Nothing is committed until you finish.

Tips
Draw the run in wiring order
Panel side first, then device to device the way the cable would run. The number label sits on the first device, which reads naturally on the print.
Mix any symbol kinds
Outlets, switches, lights, valves, your own uploads — a circuit accepts any symbol, so a low-voltage run (jacks, cameras) works the same way.
One circuit per feed
Use a new circuit for each breaker so an inspector can count them; the numbers increment automatically.
Common mistakes
Tapping empty floor between devices
Circuit lines don't take free points — only symbols. If you need the line to bend around something, add the next device; the line is schematic, not a cable route.
Forgetting to finish
A draft that isn't finished is dropped when you leave the tool. Press Enter or tap the first device again before moving on.

Do circuit lines move with the symbols?
Yes. A circuit line attaches to real symbols, so it follows when you move one and keeps its place if you delete one. Select a line to re-route a point onto a different device.
Can I connect a custom uploaded symbol?
Yes. Uploaded symbols in My Library behave like built-in ones and can be part of any circuit.
Do circuit lines print?
Yes. They appear in every PNG, PDF, and print — including the symbols-only Electrical plan export style.
