Re-scale a floor plan from one known measurement
Open Plan Settings → Layout → Outline Editor → Re-scale, drag two crosshairs onto a span whose real length you know, type it, preview, and update. The floor (or every floor) re-scales to match.
Traced and AI-imported plans sometimes arrive at the wrong size: the shape is right, but every dimension is off by the same factor, because the scale was set from a mis-read label or a guessed wall. You don't redraw. You re-scale the whole plan from one span you can measure.
Re-scale changes walls and structure by the same factor. In a design with several floors you choose This floor (the default) or All floors. Furniture keeps its place and its own real sizes, so a sofa stays a sofa.

Spot the problem
The plan reads 180″ (15 feet) inside the top wall, but you know that room is really 240″ (20 feet) wide. Any measurement you trust works — a wall length from the listing, a doorway you measured, the distance between two corners.

Open Plan Settings → Layout
On a computer, Plan Settings is the panel at the top of the left panel; if the side panel is closed, tap the Plan Settings tab on the left edge. On a phone, tap the Plan Settings button in the top row. Choose the Layout tab (it opens on Layout).

The phone tray has the same four tabs: Layout, Rotation, Walls and Ceiling. Tap the ⓘ beside Outline Editor for a short note on what it's for.

Open the Outline Editor and tap Re-scale
Tap Outline Editor, then Re-scale in the editor's bottom bar. The instructions read Drag the two crosshairs onto two points you know the real distance between, then type that distance. Nothing changes until you tap Update floor plan. Two crosshairs land across the middle of the plan. Tap Re-scale again (it shows ✕ while on) to leave without changing anything.

Put the crosshairs on a known span
Drag each crosshair onto one end of the span you can measure — here the two inside corners of the top wall. On a phone or tablet a magnifier appears under your finger so you can land them precisely.

Type the real distance and preview
Enter the true length in Real distance between the two points (your units). The dock shows New size: N% of current (here 240″ for 180″ is 133%), and a green outline previews the new size. In a design with more than one floor, the dock also asks Re-scale: This floor | All floors. This floor (the default) fixes only the floor you're on, for example an upper floor that was imported at the wrong size. All floors re-scales every floor and its furniture positions together.

Update Floor Plan
Tap Update Floor Plan (on a phone the button says Save). It stays greyed out until you've typed a length. Walls, openings, and structure re-scale; furniture keeps its position and its real dimensions. Measure again — the plan now agrees with the tape.

Tips
Use the longest span you can
A 30-foot wall gives a more accurate factor than a 3-foot doorway; small measuring errors matter less.
Fix the scale before furnishing
It works either way, but a plan at the right size makes every furniture decision honest from the start.
Re-scale on its own
Re-scaling saves only the new size. If you've made other outline changes in the same Outline Editor session, the editor warns you they'll be dropped. Tap Update Floor Plan for those first, then open the Outline Editor again to re-scale.
Common mistakes
Resizing furniture to "fix" a small plan
The furniture was right; the plan was wrong. Re-scale the plan and the furniture stays true.
Using a measurement you didn't take
Listing dimensions are often rounded. Measure the span yourself if you can.
Frequently asked questions
Does Re-scale change my furniture?
No. Furniture keeps its place and its real sizes; only walls, openings, and structure re-scale.
Does it re-scale every floor?
You choose. In a design with several floors the Re-scale dock asks This floor or All floors, starting on This floor, so an upper floor imported at the wrong size can be fixed without touching the floors that were already right. Pick All floors when the whole design came in at the wrong scale; the floors stay aligned. Undo fully reverses a This floor re-scale; after All floors, Undo restores only the floor you're on.
Where did the Edit Floor Plan Shape button go?
It's gone. Everyday wall changes happen right on the plan: tap a wall to move it, type its length, or split it. One-off outline fixes, including Re-scale, are in Plan Settings → Layout → Outline Editor. See Edit walls on the plan.
When would I need this?
Any time a trace or AI import came in too big or too small — typically because the scale was set from an unreliable label. One known span corrects everything.
