Organize your designs with tags
Tags are how you group designs in RoomSketch3D: give each design one or more colored tags, like a client, a project or a room, then show only the designs with one tag. A design can be in several groups at once, which a folder can't do.
Once you have more than a handful of designs, Your Designs on Home gets long. Tags keep it tidy. A tag is a short colored label, like Client project, Kitchen ideas or Lake house. Give a design as many tags as you like, then pick a tag to see only those designs.
Looking for folders? RoomSketch3D uses tags instead. A tag works like a folder you can filter by, and a design can carry several (say Lake house and Kitchen ideas), so it shows up in both groups without making a copy.
Tags are saved to your account, so they're the same on the web, iPhone, iPad and Android.

Step by step
- 2
Create a tag and pick its color
The sheet is titled Tags · and the design's name. Type a name in Find or create a tag. If no tag has that name yet, a row of nine colors appears; one is already picked for you, or tap another. Then tap Add. Names can be up to 40 characters. If a tag with that name already exists, the sheet says Add picks it, and Add ticks the existing tag instead of making a second one.
Type a new name, pick a color, tap Add. - 3
Tick the tags this design should have, then Done
Every tag you have is listed with a checkbox. Tick the ones this design belongs to (a new tag is ticked for you) and untick any it shouldn't have. With lots of tags, type in the box to narrow the list. Tap Done to save, or Cancel to leave the design as it was. The design's tags then show as colored chips under its name.
Ticked tags are saved when you tap Done. - 4
Tag several designs at once
Tick the checkbox at the left of each design you want (the box above the list ticks every design shown). The row above the list turns blue and reads 2 selected, with a Tags button. While some are ticked, tapping a row ticks it too, instead of opening it. Tap ✕ to clear the selection.
Tick designs, then tap Tags in the blue bar. - 5
Add or remove a tag on all of them
The sheet reads Tags for 2 designs. A tick means every selected design has the tag; a dash means only some do. Tick a tag to add it to all of them, untick it to take it off all of them, or create a new tag right here. Tap Done.
One tick tags every selected design. - 6
Show only the designs with one tag
As soon as a design has a tag, a menu appears above the list, reading All tags and how many designs you have. Pick a tag (each one shows how many designs carry it) and the list shows only those designs. The header shows how many are shown, like 2/4. Tap the ✕ in the menu to show everything again. The menu only lists tags that some design has. The Search box above the list finds tag names too, so typing client also finds every design tagged Client project.
Pick a tag to show only those designs. - 7
Rename, recolor or delete tags in Manage tags
Tap the Tags button at the right, above the list, to open Manage tags. Each tag shows how many designs have it. Tap a tag in use to close the sheet and show just those designs. Tap the pencil to rename it or change its color, and the trash can to delete it. Deleting asks first and says how many designs it will be removed from: Your designs themselves stay. You can also create tags here before you use them. Changes save straight away; tap ✕ to close.
Manage tags: counts, rename and recolor, delete.
Tips
One tag per client or project
Tag every design for a job with the same tag, like the client's name or the address, and the filter turns Home into that job's folder.
Mix kinds of tags
A design can have up to 20 tags, so combine a project tag with a stage or room tag (Kitchen ideas, Final, Option B) and find it either way.
Copies keep their tags
Duplicate a design and the copy has the same tags, so it lands in the same group. See Duplicate a design.
Common mistakes
Deleting a tag to clean up designs
Deleting a tag only takes the label off. Every design that had it stays in Your Designs. To remove a design, use its trash can on Home (it goes to the Recycle Bin for 30 days).
Not seeing a tag in the filter
The filter only lists tags that at least one design has. A tag you just created but haven't used is in Manage tags and in each design's tag sheet.
Tapping a row while designs are ticked
With designs ticked, a tap on a row ticks it instead of opening it. Tap ✕ in the blue bar to clear the selection, then tap the design to open it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I make folders for my designs?
RoomSketch3D uses tags instead of folders. Give the designs for one project the same tag, then pick that tag in the menu above Your Designs to see only them. Unlike a folder, a design can have several tags, so it can sit in more than one group.
How do I group designs by client?
Create a tag with the client's name, tick their designs on Home, tap Tags in the blue bar and tick the tag. Pick the tag in the filter to see only that client's designs.
Does deleting a tag delete my designs?
No. It only removes the tag from the designs that had it. The designs themselves stay exactly as they are.
How many tags can I have?
Up to 100 tags on your account and 20 tags on one design. Each name can be up to 40 characters.
Can I change a tag's color or name later?
Yes. Open Manage tags (the Tags button above the list) and tap the pencil next to the tag. The change shows on every design that has it.
Do tags show on my phone too?
Yes. Tags belong to your account, so the same tags and filters are on the web, iPhone, iPad and Android. On a phone, the tag sheets open from the bottom of the screen.
Can I tag a design from inside the editor?
Not today. Tags are set on Home. Tap the house button at the top left of the editor to go there; your design is already saved.
