Design in classic black-and-white blueprint style
Settings → Plan style → Black & white. Editing highlights keep their colour, 3D keeps its colours (use Line art in the 3D view for a black-and-white drawing), and every export follows the style.
Colour helps you decide; black and white is what most people want to hand over. Builders, landlords, permit desks, and printers all read a line drawing more easily. RoomSketch3D can draw the whole plan that way — not only at export time, but while you work.
Step by step

Switch the plan style
Open your profile menu → Settings. Under Plan style choose Black & white (or Color). Tap Back (top left) and you return to the exact design you were editing.

Work in ink-on-paper
Walls, doors, stairs, furniture, fireplaces, wall beds, and labels redraw as a crisp black-and-white drawing. Selection highlights and Flow Check warnings keep their colours so editing stays clear.

3D stays in colour
The plan style is a 2D drawing style; the 3D view keeps your paint, flooring, and furniture materials. Want the 3D view in black and white too? Tick Line art in the 3D view; see See your 3D view as a line drawing.
Only the 2D drawing changes. - 4
Exports and prints follow
PNG, PDF and print exports follow your plan style: the Black & white box, the first item under Options in the Export / Print Floor Plan dialog, starts ticked when your plan style is Black & white. Tick or untick it there for a one-off export the other way, without changing your plan style. It combines with Electrical plan for a pure symbols drawing.
Exports match; the dialog can override per file.
Tips
Print in black and white, design in colour
Leave the setting on Color and use the export dialog's switch when you print — or flip the setting for a day of drawing-desk work.
Room tints are optional
In the export dialog, Room tints adds a soft fill behind each room even in monochrome; turn it off for a pure line drawing.
Common mistakes
Expecting 3D to go monochrome
Plan style affects the 2D plan only. For a black-and-white 3D drawing, turn on Line art in the 3D view (3d line art view).
Frequently asked questions
Does Black & white change my exports?
Yes. Exports and prints match the active plan style. The export dialog also has its own Black & white switch for a single file.
Can I still see selections and warnings?
Yes. Selection highlights and Flow Check warnings keep their colours in Black & white mode.
Is the setting per design or for the app?
It's an app setting in Settings → Plan style and applies to every design until you change it.
