Elevation views — your home, straight on
Four straight-on exterior views of your building with real dimensions — viewable in the app and exportable for permits or contractors.
A floor plan looks straight down; an elevation looks straight at each side of the building — the drawing a permit office or builder expects alongside the plan. RoomSketch3D generates all four elevations from your design automatically, with wall heights, railing heights, and segment widths dimensioned.
What you'll need
- •Any design with walls — multi-floor designs show the full stacked façade
Step by step
- 1
Open Elevation Views
In the top toolbar (desktop), click the Elevations button — the little building icon next to the 3D view button.
- 2
Flip through the four sides
The four sides open as tabs (labeled by direction until you rename them). Windows, doors, garage doors, balconies, railings, and bulkheads all appear where they'll really be.

Rename the sides to match your lot
Call them Street side, Garden side — whatever matches reality. The names carry into your exports.
- 4
Export
Export elevations with dimensions in color, black-and-white, or PDF — or include them as extra pages when printing your plan.
Tips
Sanity-check heights here
Elevation views are the fastest place to catch a window sill set too low or a wall height typo — mistakes that hide in the top-down plan.
