The getting-started checklist — your first four steps
Tap a step and a Tap here pointer leads you to the right button; steps tick themselves off, and the ? menu brings the checklist back any time.
The first minute in any design app is the hardest. RoomSketch3D puts a small checklist on your first plan — Your first plan — with the four things that turn an empty rectangle into a room: Add a door, Add a window, Add furniture, See it in 3D. Tap a step and the app points at the actual button, so you learn where things live rather than following instructions on another page.
Step by step
- 1
Find the checklist
It appears automatically right after you create your first room. Closed it, or on a device where it didn't show? Tap the ? button in the top bar and choose Getting-started checklist (Add a door, a window, furniture, and see it in 3D). The panel shows 0 of 4 done.
Your first plan — four steps. - 2
Add a door
Tap the step. A pulsing Tap Door pointer highlights the Door tool in the Build panel (Structural & Interior on a phone). Tap it, and the banner says Door: tap a wall to place it — tap a wall and the door goes in. The step ticks itself off.
The pointer leads to the real button. - 3
Add a window
Same again: the pointer finds the Window tool, you tap a wall, the step completes.
Steps tick themselves off. - 4
Add furniture
The hint reads Pick any item, then tap Add. Choose anything in the catalog — search sofa — tap +Add, and it lands in the room ready to drag.
Pick any item, then tap Add. - 5
See it in 3D
The last step opens the 3D view — Walk through your room. When all four are done the panel says Nice work! You know the basics. Everything else lives in the same places. Collapse the checklist with its header button, or hide it for good.
Four steps, one room.
Tips
Let it point
Even if you know where Door is, tapping the step shows you the banner flow — tool, then wall — that every structural item uses.
Then take the tour
The ? menu's Guided tour walks the whole editor on a sample apartment when you're ready for more.
Common mistakes
Dismissing it on a phone by accident
Hide is permanent for that device; bring it back from ? → Getting-started checklist.
Frequently asked questions
The checklist didn't appear. How do I open it?
Tap the ? button in the top bar and choose Getting-started checklist.
Can I skip steps?
Yes. Steps are independent; do them in any order or ignore the panel — it only guides.
Where do these tools live afterwards?
Exactly where the pointer showed you: doors and windows in the Build panel, furniture in the catalog, 3D in the view buttons.
