Change the color, fabric, or finish of any piece
Every catalog piece has a Color row in its inspector: tap a swatch, or the rainbow swatch for any custom color. Upholstered pieces add a Fabric row; cabinets add fronts and finishes. The change shows in 2D and 3D at once.
Color is set per piece, from the same inspector where you set its size. Select anything — a sofa, a bed, a dining table, a base cabinet — and the Color row appears with the swatches that make sense for that piece plus a rainbow Custom color swatch that opens a full color picker. Upholstered seating adds a Fabric row (weave, linen, velvet, bouclé, leather); kitchen cabinets and wardrobes add door fronts, handles, and finishes.
Changes apply immediately in both the 2D plan and the 3D view, save with the design, and stay when you duplicate it.

Select the piece
Tap or click it on the plan. The inspector opens — on desktop at the bottom of the canvas, on a phone as a sheet. If two pieces overlap, a Select item picker lets you choose which one.

Pick a swatch — or any color
In the Color row, tap a swatch to apply it. The last swatch (the rainbow one) is Custom color: it opens a picker where you can drag to any hue or type a hex code such as `#2E4A62` to match a paint chip or a product listing. The plan updates as you drag.

Set the fabric or finish where the piece has one
Sofas, armchairs, and beds show a Fabric row — pick weave, linen, velvet, bouclé, or leather and the 3D material changes with it. Cabinets, wardrobes, and dressers show fronts, handles, and finish choices instead; tables and desks take a wood tone. A piece only shows the rows that apply to it.

Check it in 3D
Tap 3D to see the color under the room's lighting next to your wall paint and flooring. Colors are easiest to judge from inside the room in walk mode.

Copy a color to other pieces
Duplicate the piece (inspector → Duplicate) and it carries the color and fabric. For a matching set, recolor one, then duplicate it as many times as you need.
Tips
Match a real product with a hex code
Retailer pages and paint chips often give a color name; a quick search usually gives its hex value. Type that into Custom color and the plan shows the real shade.
Walls and floors have their own tools
Paint is on the wall (select a wall → paint), flooring is per room (Materials tab). The Color row is for furniture and fixtures only.
Common mistakes
Looking for a pencil icon on the catalog tile
Colors aren't set in the catalog. Add the piece to the plan first, then select it — the Color row is in the inspector.
Expecting every piece to have fabric options
Fabric applies to upholstered seating and beds. Hard goods take a color or wood tone instead; appliances and plumbing fixtures keep their finish.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the color of kitchen cabinets?
Yes. Select a cabinet and the inspector shows its color and finish along with the door/drawer front and handle choices. Change one cabinet, then duplicate it for a matching run.
Can I use a photo of my own fabric or material?
Not as a texture — the 3D materials are the built-in set. You can match the color exactly with Custom color, and pick the closest fabric type for the sheen and weave.
Does the color show in exports?
Yes — the 2D export uses the piece color, and the 3D export (GLB) carries the materials. The black-and-white plan style intentionally drops color.
Why is a piece grey and won't take a color?
A few items — appliances, sinks, toilets, some structures — have a fixed finish. If the Color row isn't shown for a piece, that's why. Pick a different catalog variant if the finish matters.
