Want your plan to face the way you stand in the house, or to fit better on a phone screen or a printout? Rotate Plan turns the whole plan, walls, furniture and all, in 15° steps. Nothing is moved or resized: the measurements stay exactly the same.

Flip Plan is different: it mirrors the plan, as if you'd drawn it from the other side. Use it for a mirror-image apartment or a house built the other way round.

Step by step

  1. 1

On a computer: Rotate Plan in the toolbar

In the toolbar above the plan, find Rotate Plan with two round arrows: ↺ turns the plan 15° to the left, ↻ 15° to the right. Six taps make a quarter turn (90°). Reset turns it back to the way it was drawn.

Rotate Plan: ↺ ↻ in 15° steps, and Reset.
  2. 2

The plan turns, everything with it

Here the apartment has been turned a quarter turn. Walls, doors, furniture and measurements all turn together, and the numbers stay upright so you can still read them. Fit re-centres the plan if it moves out of view.

Turned 90°. Reset is now available to undo the turn.
  3. 3

On a phone or tablet: open Plan Settings

On a phone (and on most tablets held upright), the rotate buttons live in Plan Settings. Tap the Plan Settings button in the row under the design name.

    Phone: tap Plan Settings.
  4. 4

    Choose the Plan Rotation tab

Tap Plan Rotation. You get the same controls: ↺ and ↻ (15° each), Reset, and the two Flip buttons (left to right, top to bottom). Tap × to close the panel.

    Plan Settings → Plan Rotation.
  5. 5

    Flip (mirror) the whole plan

Next to Rotate Plan, Flip Plan has two buttons: Flip plan left to right and Flip plan top to bottom. Unlike rotating, a flip really changes the design: walls, doors and windows, furniture, stairs, labels and notes all move to their mirror position. One Undo reverses it. Tips

Line it up with the real house

Turn the plan until it matches the way you see the rooms from the front door. It's much easier to place furniture when left on screen is left in real life.

Printing a wide plan

Your images, PDFs and prints use the rotation you see on screen. Turn a long plan sideways to fill the page better.

Common mistakes

Pressing Undo to turn it back

Rotating only changes how you look at the plan, so it isn't an undo step. Use Reset to go back to the original direction.

Flipping when you meant to rotate

If the kitchen ends up on the wrong side of the house, you flipped instead of rotated. Tap Undo (or the same Flip button again).

Frequently asked questions

How do I rotate my whole floor plan?

On a computer, use Rotate Plan (↺ ↻) in the toolbar above the plan. On a phone, tap Plan Settings → Plan Rotation. Each tap turns the plan 15°.

How do I rotate the plan 90 degrees?

Tap ↻ (or ↺) six times: 6 × 15° = 90°.

Does rotating change my measurements or move my walls?

No. It only turns the view. Every wall, door and piece of furniture keeps its size and its place in the room.

Will it stay rotated next time I open the design?

Yes. The rotation is saved with the design, and images, PDFs and prints use it too. Tap Reset to go back to the way you drew it.

My plan is upside down. How do I fix it?

If it was only turned, tap Reset. If the rooms are mirrored (left and right swapped), it was flipped: tap the same Flip button again, or Undo.

How do I turn a single piece of furniture?

Select it and use Rotate in its panel. See rotate, flip and mirror.
