Every toolbar button, explained

A quick reference to every button across the top of the editor — the top bar and the toolbar above the canvas, left to right.

The toolbar across the top of the editor holds every action you'll use while designing. Here's what each button does — the top bar first, then the toolbar above the canvas, left to right.

Step by step

  1. 1

    The toolbar at a glance

Two rows sit at the top of the editor: the top bar (your design name, sharing, account) and the toolbar above the canvas (view and editing controls). Every button below is left-to-right in these rows.

The top bar (design name, Share / Export, account) and the canvas toolbar below it.
  2. 2

    Dashboard (grid icon)

Top-left, next to the logo. Opens your Dashboard — all your saved designs and your account.

  3. 3

    New design (+)

Start a new design from scratch or a template, or open one of your saved designs.

  4. 4

    Design name

The name in the center of the top bar. Click it (or the pencil) to rename the design.

  5. 5

    Share / Export

Publish a read-only public link, or export a PNG, PDF, GLB, or JSON. See the export guides under Share & Export.

  6. 6

    Support

Opens a menu with four options: Have a question? (ask how to do something), Report a bug, Request a feature, and Give feedback.

Support — ask a question, report a bug, request a feature, or give feedback.
  7. 7

    Account

Your avatar (far right) opens the account menu: Profile, Settings (including your drawing defaults), About Room Sketch 3D, and Sign out.

The account menu — Profile, Settings, About, and Sign out.
  8. 8

    Collapse / expand panels

The chevrons at the inner edge of the Floors panel (left) and Furniture & Décor panel (right) hide them for a bigger canvas. Open full catalog expands the furniture panel to the full library.

  9. 9

    Smart Flow Check

The badge at the left of the toolbar is always on. It reads ✓ OK when your layout is clear, or shows a number when it finds issues — tight walkways, blocked door swings, furniture too close. Click it to see each one.

Tips

Toggle labels and measurements before exporting

Turn measurements on (and tints off) for a clean architectural export; turn labels off for a minimal look. The Export dialog has the same toggles.

Frequently asked questions

Does Rotate Plan change my design?

No — it only rotates the view on screen. Your walls and dimensions stay exactly as drawn; Reset returns the view to north-up.

Do I need to save?

No. Saving is automatic — the cloud icon turns green when your latest change is saved.
