Undo and Redo: cancel a change

The curved arrows in the toolbar above the plan are Undo and Redo. Undo takes back your last change, one step per tap; Redo puts it back.

Moved the wrong thing, deleted a piece, or flipped the plan by accident? Undo takes it back. It's the curved arrow pointing left in the toolbar above your plan, on a computer and on a phone. Redo, the arrow next to it, puts back what you just undid.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Find Undo and Redo

They're in the toolbar just above the plan, after the sticky-note button. When there's nothing to undo, the arrows are grey.

Undo (left arrow) and Redo (right arrow).
  2. 2

Tap Undo to cancel the last change

Each tap takes back one change: a move, a resize, a deleted item, a new wall, a flip. Keep tapping to go further back.

One tap of Undo put the sofa back.
  3. 3

    Changed your mind? Redo

Redo brings back what you just undid, one step per tap. Once you make a new change after undoing, Redo starts over from there.

  4. 4

    Keyboard shortcuts (computer)

    - Undo: Ctrl+Z on Windows, ⌘Z on a Mac. - Redo: Ctrl+Y on Windows, ⌘Y on a Mac. The button's tooltip also lists Ctrl+Shift+Z for Redo. If that doesn't work for you, use Ctrl+Y (⌘Y) or the Redo button.

  5. 5

    On a phone

Undo and Redo are in the row of icons under the floor picker. If you don't see them, swipe that row sideways.

Phone: the arrows in the toolbar row.

Just want one thing gone? Delete it

If the change you regret was adding a piece, you don't need to undo everything since. Select the piece and tap Delete at the top of its panel, or the red trash can next to it on the plan. On a computer, the Delete or Backspace key works too. See select, copy, and delete.

    Select the piece, then Delete.

Tips

Make a copy before a big change

Undo only reaches back through this session. Before you rework a whole layout, Duplicate the design (or export a backup) so you can always go back to the original. See managing your designs.

Mid-drawing undo

While you're drawing a circuit line or an area, Undo removes the last point you placed first, so you don't lose the rest of the drawing.

Common mistakes

Expecting Undo after reloading

Undo history lives in the open editor. Reloading the page, closing the app, or opening another design clears it. Your design itself is saved; there's just nothing left to undo.

Using Undo to straighten the view

Turning the plan with Rotate Plan, zooming and panning don't change your design, so Undo skips them. Use Reset next to Rotate Plan, or Fit. See rotating the whole plan.

Frequently asked questions

How do I cancel a change I just made?

Tap Undo, the curved arrow pointing left in the toolbar above the plan (or press Ctrl+Z, ⌘Z on a Mac). Tap again to go back another step.

How many steps can I undo?

Up to the last 50 changes, as long as the design stays open. Each floor of a multi-floor design keeps its own undo steps.

Can I undo after I close or reload the design?

No. Undo history is cleared when the page reloads or you open another design. Every change is already saved, so to get back an older version, keep copies with Duplicate or export a backup before big changes.

Undo took back more than I expected. Why?

Undo keeps one list for the plan (walls, doors, windows, plan settings) and one for furniture, and one tap steps both back. So if your last plan change and your last furniture change were separate, one Undo reverses both. Tap Redo to put them back, then redo the one you wanted by hand.

Does Undo work for deleted furniture?

Yes. Tap Undo right after deleting and the piece comes back where it was.

Is there a version history?

Not yet. Use Duplicate to keep named versions, like Living room - before and Living room - after.
