Save a plain picture of your 3D view — no AI, no credits

Want a normal picture of the room exactly as the 3D view shows it — not an AI render? Take a screenshot, or take a photo in Render Studio and download it as-is. Neither uses an AI credit.

The 3D view doesn't have its own "Save image" button yet, but there are two easy ways to keep a plain picture of it — exactly the colors, furniture, and light you see on screen, with nothing added by AI.

Quickest: take a screenshot of the 3D view. Cleanest: take a photo in Render Studio and download it without rendering. Taking and downloading a photo uses no credits — a credit is only used if you choose to generate an AI render.

What you'll need

  • •A design you can open in the 3D view

Step by step

  1. 1

Option 1 — take a screenshot of the 3D view

Open your design, click 3D View, and set up the view you want: drag to turn it, scroll or pinch to zoom, tick Dollhouse to see your whole home with the near walls cut away, or walk inside at eye level. Turn on High quality and Shadows for the best-looking picture. Then use your device's own screenshot: - Windows: press Windows + Shift + S and drag around the view. - Mac: press Shift + Command + 4 and drag around the view. - iPhone / iPad: press the side (or top) button and volume up together. - Android: press power and volume down together. Dragging a selection on a computer lets you leave out the buttons at the edges of the 3D view.

Dollhouse view with High quality and Shadows on — frame it, then take a screenshot.

Option 2 — take a photo in Render Studio

For a clean picture without the 3D view's buttons, use Render Studio's camera. Open it with Export → Photorealistic AI Renders, or tap AI Render at the top right of the 3D view. Tap the marker of the room you want, then frame the shot with Landscape, Portrait, or Square and the camera sliders — the bright rectangle shows exactly what will be saved. Tap Take photo. This costs nothing: the credit counter at the top doesn't change.

Frame the shot inside the viewfinder, then tap Take photo — no credit is used.
  3. 3

    Open the photo

Your new photo opens straight away, with the style options for an AI render beside it. You don't need any of those — just tap the photo itself to see it full screen. You can come back to it any time under Your photos.

Tap the photo to open it full screen. The credit count (16 here) hasn't changed.
  4. 4

    Download it

Tap the download button at the top right of the full-screen photo. On a computer it saves as a PNG file (1536 × 1024 pixels for a Landscape photo); in the iPhone, iPad, and Android apps it goes straight to your Photos. The trash button next to it deletes the photo.

The download button saves the photo exactly as the 3D view showed it.
  5. 5

    That's your picture

The saved file is the plain 3D view — your walls, flooring, furniture, and windows as you designed them, with no AI changes. Share it, print it, or drop it into a presentation.

The downloaded photo — a straight copy of the 3D view, no AI.

Tips

Pick the right photo shape first

Landscape suits slides and laptops, Portrait suits phones, Square suits social posts. The shape changes the viewfinder, so choose it before you frame the shot.

Turn on High quality before a screenshot

High quality and Shadows make the 3D view look its best. If your device feels slow, turn them back off after you've taken the picture.

Want the whole home in one picture?

Tick Dollhouse in the 3D view and use the arrow buttons to turn it a quarter at a time. A screenshot of that view shows every room at once.

Common mistakes

Tapping Generate when you only wanted the photo

Generate makes an AI render and uses one credit. For the plain picture, tap the photo and use download instead.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Save image button in the 3D view?

Not yet. Use a screenshot, or take a photo in Render Studio and download it — both give you a plain picture of the 3D view.

Does taking a photo in Render Studio use a credit?

No. Taking photos and downloading them uses no credits. A credit is used only when you tap Generate to make an AI render.

I don't see Photorealistic AI Renders or the AI Render button. What now?

Render Studio is part of the full version of RoomSketch3D, and on iPhone and iPad it needs an up-to-date app. If it isn't showing for you, a screenshot of the 3D view is the way to save a picture.

What size is the downloaded photo?

Landscape photos are 1536 × 1024 pixels, Portrait 1024 × 1536, and Square 1024 × 1024, saved as PNG.

Can I save a picture of the 2D floor plan instead?

Yes — use Export → PNG/PDF or Print for the floor plan, or the Elevations view for straight-on pictures of each outside wall. See Export and share options and Elevation views.

Can I get the 3D model itself?

Yes. Export → GLB downloads your design as a 3D model you can open in 3D viewers and editors such as Blender or SketchUp, and render or screenshot there.
