Plan a classroom, gym, stage or event space
Search the catalog for stage, lectern, bleachers, exit sign, lunch table or hand dryer. Risers lift whatever stands on them, bleachers take a row count and style, exit signs hang over a door at 7 ft, and everything shows to scale in 3D.
RoomSketch3D isn't only for homes. Schools, gyms, churches, community halls and event planners use it to check that a stage, seating and exits fit before the chairs come out. These pieces live in their own catalog sections; this page shows where to find them and what each one can do.
A quick start: open a commercial template from New design → Pre-designed layouts (the Fitness Gym below is one) and change it, or draw your own hall.
What you'll need
- •A design with the hall, gym or classroom drawn (or a commercial template such as Fitness Gym)
Step by step
- 1
Stage & Presentation: lecterns, risers, steps and pedestals
Search stage, lectern, podium, riser or plinth. The Stage & Presentation section has: - Lecterns: Lectern (Classic) in wood and Lectern (Modern). - Stage risers: 4×8 ft, 16″, 4×4 ft, 16″ and 4×8 ft, 24″. Put several side by side for a bigger stage. - Stage Steps (16″) that butt up to a riser. - Display pedestals for a sculpture or product: 12″, 18″ and round. Anything you set on a riser (a lectern, chairs, a piano, a drum kit) stands up on the stage in 3D, and Smart Flow Check knows it's on the stage rather than in its way. Each piece takes a painted colour, a wood or a metal finish.

Bleachers: rows, style and rails
Search bleachers, grandstand or stadium seating. Sports & Venues has Bleachers 3-Row (15 ft), 5-Row (21 ft), Gym Bleachers 10-Row (30 ft) and Wood Tier Seating 3-Row (12 ft). Add one and select it: - Rows − / +: from 2 to 15 rows. - Aluminum (open frame with seat and foot planks), Gym (closed wooden tiers, like pull-out gym bleachers) or Wood tiers (solid steps you sit on, like an amphitheatre). - Rails: back and side guard rails, on by default once the top row is 30″ up. - W: the length of the run. The line under it does the maths: About 40 seats · 8′ deep · 5′ 10″ tall (about one person per 18″ of row).
Four rows of aluminum bleachers: about 40 seats. - 3
Exit signs over the doors
Search exit sign. Signs & Safety has Exit Sign (US) with red EXIT lettering and Emergency Exit Sign (Europe) with the green running figure. Tap the sign, tap Add, then tap the wall above a door: it hangs at 7 ft (change Mount to move it) and glows in 3D.

Check sightlines and exits in 3D
Open 3D and tick Dollhouse to look into the hall from any side. Check that the stage is visible from the back row, that the exit sign shows above the door, and that aisles stay clear. In Walk mode you can sit down on a bleacher row or a lunch-table bench (tap the blue Sit marker) and see the room from that seat.

School lunch tables, lockers and restroom fittings
- Lunch tables: search lunch table or cafeteria for School Lunch Table 8 ft, 10 ft and 12 ft, each with a bench attached along both sides (also in the Dining Room tab). - Lockers: search locker for School Locker (Single), a set of three, a wall run and a double-sided block; select one to choose 1 to 6 rows of doors. - Restrooms: search hand dryer, paper towel or soap for Hand Dryer, Hand Dryer (Blade), Paper Towel Dispenser and Soap Dispenser. Tap a wall to hang them; they come at accessible heights and take the same finish as your other bathroom fittings.

Tips
Find them by room tab
Stage pieces are in the Office, Recreation Room and Living Room tabs; exit signs in Office, Recreation Room and Gym; bleachers in Gym, Recreation Room and Yard/Patio; lunch tables in Dining Room; restroom fittings in Bathroom. Searching is quickest.
A built-in platform instead of risers
For a permanent raised area (a dais, a chancel, a stage built into the floor), use Build → Sunken / Raised Floor and Add steps: see Add a sunken or raised floor.
Leave room around seating
Keep aisles and the space in front of exits clear; Smart Flow Check flags furniture in a door's swing or crowding a doorway. See Smart Flow Check.
Common mistakes
Expecting stage steps for a 24″ riser
The catalog's Stage Steps are 16″ high, matching the 16″ risers. There's no 24″ version yet; for a 24″ riser, check the climb carefully or use 16″ risers.
Exit signs are a planning aid
They show where signs go. They don't check exit counts, travel distances or your local fire code.
Frequently asked questions
Can I plan a stage with a podium or lectern?
Yes. Add stage risers side by side for the stage, a Lectern (Classic or Modern) on top and Stage Steps at the front. Anything on a riser stands on it in 3D.
Can I change how many rows the bleachers have?
Yes, 2 to 15 rows with the Rows − / + buttons, in Aluminum, Gym or Wood tiers. The depth, height, rails and seat count follow automatically.
Do you have European exit signs?
Yes: Emergency Exit Sign (Europe), with the green running-figure pictogram, next to the US red EXIT sign.
Can I plan a school cafeteria?
Yes. School lunch tables with attached benches come in 8, 10 and 12 ft; search lunch table or cafeteria.
Can I plan a public restroom?
Yes. Besides toilets, urinals and sinks, there are hand dryers (compact and blade), a paper towel dispenser and a soap dispenser that hang on the wall at accessible heights.
Is there a template for a gym or hall?
The commercial templates include a Fitness Gym, Neighborhood Library, cafés, restaurants, shops and lobbies. Open one from New design → Pre-designed layouts and change it to suit.
